Art With Attitude Blog Hop - Washi Tape Wonder!!

The Stampers with an Attitude team is doing a blog hop, themed {Art with an Attitude}!!  "Who are we?" you might ask?  We are Close to My Heart (CTMH) consultants, who are passionate and talented crafters!

For this blog hop, we are showing off Close to My Heart's washi tape and a MyAcrylix stamp set of our choice.  Here is my card:

 

• I used mostly NEW products from the 2014 Spring/Summer Idea Book (releasing on Feb 1st!). 
• My design is based from sketch #314 from Mojo Monday's blog challenge {side note - I LOVE blog challenges!!} .. 
• The circle is Laughing Lola B&T paper and  cut from the Artiste Cricut cartridge (Accent 3 pg 31 at 3.5").  
• I layered the Gold Polka-Dot washi tape onto White Daisy cardstock to make it pop more.
• The Teal Shimmer trim - one of my favorite new items - is the laid across the card and created into a bow from multiple pieces (you can see it better below).

• The black shiny zig-zag background is one of the new papers from the Paper Fundamentals Basic Assortment - 20 double sided 12x12 sheets of 10 designs.
• I used one of my all-time favorite stamp set (you must have noticed I almost use it all the time!), Holiday Tags for the sentiment and raised it with 3D foam tape.
• To finish off the card, i added three of the new Purple Glitter Gems for some bling.

Inspired By Blog Challenges - FMS#117

I totally got inspired yesterday by blog challenges.  Freshly Made Sketches has some great inspiration too and so I got crafting with scraps from the Cloud 9 National Papercrafting Month Cardmaking Kit.

I like the simplicity of the challenges from Freshly Made Sketches - here is what I created for their #117 blog challenge:

The Cloud 9 kit is ridiculously cute and gives a sneak peak at new products from the Close to My Heart 2014 Spring/Summer Idea Book.  The left picture is the outside of the card and the right is the inside of the card.  The sentiment on the outside "Today is a Good Day" is raised using 3D tape; underneath that is *new* Teal shimmer trim.  The gold polka-dot banner is actually *new* washi tape & the *new* Triangle Studs at the top left are self-adhesive.  Inside, the frame & sentiment are stamped directly to the card base. These scraps (the designer's goal for this sketch) worked out great to create this card!

Inspired By Blog Challenges- MM#325 & CQ#221

I decided to kick-start my crafty mojo with some blog challenges and went to this week's inspiration from Mojo Monday & Colour Q.

 

This was a duel inspiration and I missed uploading this post to Mojo Monday #325 :( but still a go for Colour Q #221. None-the-less, the challenges did their job and got me crafting!!  Here is what I came up with:

The Close to My Heart colors I used, that were closest to the Colour Q (SU) colors, are White Daisy, Moonstruck, Lagoon, Chocolate, and Juniper. It's hard to tell from this picture, but the Happy Birthday tag is raised with 3D tape and there are bitty sparkles on the swirls of the cupcake frosting.

Frosted WOTG Card Kit

The Frosted WOTG Card Kit is probably one of my all time favorites.  Not only do I LOVE the paper, but the exclusive stamp set to this kit is awesome and the cards turned out great!  I can't wait to use the instructional brochure to make some birthday cards

Artbooking Cricut Cartridge

I have finally had a chance to utilize the new Cricut cartridge, exclusive to Close to My Heart, called Artbooking.  It is fabulous!!

Artbooking is a revolutionary cartridge that not only coordinates with CTMH's stamp sets, but can also create - to size - 15 themed scrapbook layouts & 10 themed mini albums!! The opportunities are endless with 700 images, 3 coordinating stamp sets, and 3 dimensional elements (chip board coordinating shapes to cartridge and stamps). They are interchangeable and limitless!!


Each CTMH Cricut cartridge is unique to CTMH because any stamp image that is outlined in the idea books with a red outline can be cut out from one of the CTMH cartridges!!  It tells you the size to cut it at, so the stamped image fits perfectly.  Increase the image size 1/4" to provide a layered look.  These cartridges are seriously the only cartridges you'll ever use!

Hopping with Heart Blog Hop - Holiday Guide Tidings!

Laughing Lola

Laughing Lola is one of my favorite new papers from the Autumn/Winter Idea Book. I was instantly drawn to it when I saw it; it's vibrant, warm, and fun.

In August, I worked with the Laughing Lola Workshop on the Go (WOTG).  The WOTG are Close to My Heart's (CTMH) version of a kit. It includes the full paper pack, a how-to/color instruction guide, embellishments, & an exclusive stamp set to coordinate with the paper. All you need are blocks, stamp pad/s, a paper trimmer, scissors & adhesive.

Here is the layout from the WOTG:

I altered mine a bit from the how-to-guide because of the pictures I had. Don't they look great with this paper by the way?! My friend Heather Jean took them for me. I will be posting a project featuring the family photos she just took for me sometime soon. Love her & her work!!

The WOTG also provides an example layout you can create with the extra papers. You can get it from my website or reference the pattern in the how-to-book it lists. Here is my version of that layout:

I wanted to feature a handful of new products on this layout and also had to tweak the pattern some to accommodate my pictures (again taken by Heather Jean). The new CTMH Cricut cartridge Artbooking is pretty amazing. I cut the accent pieces on both sides of the paper, and the titles Absolutely & 1 of a Kind.  This cartridge has so many options - it's truly a MUST have!  To bling it up, I added in the Black Shimmer Trim and a couple of embellishments to finish it off. 

The flower is the inner portion of the WOTG flower stamp, with a Laughing Lola My Accent for the center; I popped it from the page with some 3D foam tape. Next to it is the Base & Bling Teal Jewels & the Base & Bling Floral Accents.  Side note - the Base & Bling line coordinates with ANY project, not just the wearable crafts!!  Just like all of CTMH's projects - things are interchangeable and coordinate with each other.

Then I decided to make some cards up. I always need them and this paper is too awesome not to get inspired by it. 

They were quick and turned out adorable!! The new Lagoon washi tape is on the corner of the 1 of a Kind card, with some bling on top. A good tip when adding bling is to place them in a triangle pattern and typically in threes- it is more appealing to the eye.
